Educational Expeditions is a consulting firm specializing in matching students to dynamic study, travel and adventure programs that foster personal growth and a better understanding of the world.

Our mission is to provide students and parents a resource for finding the best extracurricular activities and summer enrichment programs tailored to the needs of the student. Our goal is to help the student develop his/her unique abilities and enhance the college application or experience.

Our research is thorough and based on firsthand, up to date information. We diligently investigate programs by:

• Site visits to programs in the U.S. and abroad
• Interviewing program directors
• Soliciting feedback from previous participants of programs
• Analyzing the latest developments in travel and study opportunities for students
• Attending presentations on student travel and study programs
• Staying abreast of all current publications on available programs

Our commitment is to the student. We prefer to meet with students and parents personally. When distance does not allow for this, we work with families online and through telephone interviews. We encourage inquiries from teachers, school administrators and guidance counselors who want to know more about how we can help their students.

Our focus is on the goals, interests, and skill level of each student rather than the agenda of any select group of programs. We are student centered and not in the business to promote any particular study or travel opportunity.

The College Connection: In addition to broadening your horizons and giving you personal fulfillment, a good extracurricular program should enhance your college application. We will be happy to help you summarize your summer or extracurricular experience when you complete your program or project. We encourage you to keep a journal to record your thoughts and experiences that later can be used as a springboard for your college essay or a discussion point in a college interview. As part of our service, we keep in touch with college admissions officers and learn what types of programs and experiences they feel are most helpful to potential applicants.

We will find you the right opportunity to suit your needs whether it is digging for artifacts in Mexico, clearing trails in Appalachia, perfecting your French in Provence, or playing music at Aspen Music Festival. Summer Opportunity Workshops are offered at the University of Richmond several times a year.  These workshops focus on the connection between college admissions and summer/extracurricular activities.
